LIFT — Oil Cleanser

DESCRIPTION

Warm a few drops between your hands and the smell arrives first — dry cedar, cool wood, a thin bright line of fir, like the air on a Wasatch ridge where the junipers hold the slope and the conifers start to climb. Massaged onto dry skin, the oil loosens sunscreen, makeup, and the day's buildup, then rinses or wipes clean and leaves nothing behind but softness.

The base does the cleansing and asks for no attention while it works: high-oleic sunflower and jojoba, the oil that most closely mirrors your skin's own sebum, so it dissolves what sits on the surface without stripping what belongs there. The scent is carried entirely by the wood. Cedarwood leads — botanically a juniper, the same genus as the Juniperus that covers the foothills east of Park City — with hinoki beside it for a cooler, cleaner note, amyris for a soft resinous warmth, and a trace of Siberian fir lifting the top. Rosemary holds the oils stable, as it does across the line.

Seven ingredients. No surfactants, no water, no fragrance standing in for a forest. The oils are the cleanser, and the wood is the whole of the scent.
